last week I decided to try something new. I got the Clicks Keyboard case for my iPhone 16 Plus. This was already a big phone and the new physical keyboard poking out of the bottom makes it even bigger.
But the Clicks Keyboard has made me like my phone again. It feels less like a phone, and more like a “palm top.”
The phrase “palm top” originally referred to PDA’s and mini laptops. But the 6.7” screen plus another inch and a half for the keyboard makes the phone like 7.5 inches tall. This is bigger than a phone at this point. And more useful too. So Palm top is more fitting.
All of the sudden I can do serious work with this thing. From messaging coworkers to writing this article, I can do long form typing for the first time since 2009 from a device that (barely) fits in my pocket.
This has completely changed the way I look at my phone. It has actually made me like it again. Yes, there is a learning curve. Yes, it makes my phone giant. Yes, it is incredibly cool.
I now have 36 shortcut buttons I can set up on my phone. And they tie into the shortcuts app – so I can hit a keyboard shortcut and do literally anything automatically. It is a game changer. Forget the action button – I’ve got the whole damn action pad.
In the end, this isn’t for everyone. But if you’re like me and miss your blackberry, this is for you.
